Waterloo police have arrested an adult and three juveniles on weapons charges after they allegedly tossed guns out of a vehicle during a short chase with officers Tuesday evening (July 17, 2018).

19-year-old Trevon Parham-Holmes; 17-year-old Devonte Wright; a 17-year-old female; and a 16-year-old male were all taken into custody after the pursuit ended. Wright was charged with possession of a firearm as a felon, while the other three were each charged with carrying weapons. An additional charge of eluding was filed against the 17-year-old female, who was driving the vehicle.

According to police, officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Fairview and Riehl streets around 10:30 PM. The vehicle failed to stop and led the officers on a pursuit through the neighborhood.

Police said officers observed people inside the vehicle throw firearms out the window during the chase, which ended a short time later near Avon and Conger streets.

According to police, officers recovered four weapons during their investigation -- three handguns and a taser. Police said one of the handguns was reported stolen during a residential burglary in April.
