‘Walk Waterloo’ Kicks Off On Wednesday
Even though summer is over and we are well into the fall season now, that doesn't mean that those fun activities that we had over the summer are over and done with.
This Wednesday Waterloo officials will lead a community walk through the downtown part of the city. Mayor Quentin Hart and Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg are kicking off this huge event on October 6th.
They will be joined by leaders from the Healthiest State Initiative and Delta Dental.
Gates open to the public at 11:30 AM. The full schedule of events is as follows:
11:30 AM Gates are open to the public
11:45 AM River Renaissance and History & Culture Walk begin
12:00 PM Remarks from local leaders
12:15 Walk begins
This walk will take place at the RiverLoop Amphitheatre & Expo Plaza and is set to wrap up at about 1:30 PM.
If you want to participate or even want a good idea on where traffic might be affected you can check out all of the different routes here.
The Cedar Valley has quite a number of things going on in the community. There are new restaurants and breweries opening up all over the area. Bremer County Brewing in Waverly is expected to be opening sometime this fall. In addition, Cedar Falls has plenty of restaurants in the process of opening up.
The Carter House is a take-away friendly restaurant in the historic downtown Cedar Falls. Also, another new restaurant called Georges Local just celebrated their first few days of being open to the public. It is located at the same location that Santa's Workshop used to be.
