The University of Northern Iowa women’s basketball team stormed past Bradley tonight, posting a 78-64 victory. The Panthers have won five of its last six games, improving their record to 9-9 overall and 5-2 in MVC play.

Jen Keitel led the Panthers with a career-high 25 points, shooting 11-of-14 from the field and notching five rebounds and two blocks. Hannah Schonhardt grabbed her second double-double in a row, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Brooke Brown rounded out the Panthers finishing in double figures, tying her career-high of 18 points and tallying five assists.
Brittni Donaldson opened the game with a three at the top of the key, but Bradley was able to force several turnovers in the first five minutes to take a 14-5 lead heading into the first media timeout. The Panthers then hit three three-pointers in a row, including two from Brown to cut the Bradley lead to 18-14 with 12:11 on the clock.
UNI was able to go on a 7-0 run starting at the 10:13 mark, capped off by a jumper from Madison Weekly to give UNI a 21-20 lead with 8:23 left in the first half. After Bradley regained the lead, Keitel scored four straight points for UNI off a long jumper and a strong layup to give UNI a 27-26 lead with 4:18 on the clock.
Weekly hit another jumper with 45 seconds left in the half to give UNI a 33-31 lead, but Bradley’s Leti Lerma was able to send in a bucket with 26 seconds on the clock tie the score. Both teams headed into halftime with 33 points.
Bradley opened the second half with four straight points before Brooke Brown drained her third three-pointer of the game to cut the lead down to one. Keitel gave the lead back to UNI just seconds later off a layup to make the score 38-37 with 16:16 remaining in the game.
The Panthers and the Braves continued to trade baskets and the lead, with UNI regaining the lead at the 12:20 mark when Stephanie Davison converted on a free throw to make the score 44-43. Bradley took a three-point lead with less than 10 minutes to play before Keitel made a great move under the basket to cut it back down to a one point game.
UNI went on another run, scoring nine unanswered points to take a 59-52 lead after Schonhardt was found under the basket by Keitel for a quick two-points with 6:09 left to play. The Panthers then its lead to 10 points after Davison knocked down a wide open three-pointer on the outside to make the score 67-57 with 3:21 on the clock.
After gaining a 10-point advantage on the Braves, the Panthers never looked back and the Braves were never within more than 10 points for the remainder of the game, giving UNI the 78-64 win.
Post-Game Notes vs. Bradley
Jen Keitel
finished with a career-high 25 points against Bradley, shooting 11-of-14 from the field and adding five rebounds. She has reached double figures in three of the last four games for the Panthers.
Brooke Brown tied her career-high of 18 points against Bradley. She finished 5-of-8 from the field and 4-of-7 from three-point-land, along with tying her career-high in assists with five.  
Hannah Schonhardt
notched her second double-double in a row, coming away with 11 points and 11 rebounds against the Braves. She finished with 12 boards and 15 points last week against Missouri State. She also finished with a career-high five assists.
Amber Sorenson finished with a career-high tying six rebounds against the Bradley Braves.
