Three Arlington residents have been arrested on drug-related charges following the weekend search of an apartment building in the city.

Fayette County sheriff's deputies took 62-year-old Daniel Guyer, 53-year-old Kimberly Eckhardt and 52-year-old Jeffrey Keppler into custody Saturday evening. They were charged after authorities searched an apartment building and discovered drug paraphernalia and illegal substances, officials said.

Guyer and Eckhardt were each charged with third-offense possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, third-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine and gathering where methamphetamine is used. Keppler was charged with third-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine and gathering where controlled substances are used. Guyer, Eckhardt and Keppler were also each charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Sheriff's officials said methamphetamine and marijuana were found and seized during Saturday's search, which occurred around 10 PM at 651-691 Main Street.

Fayette County sheriff's deputies were assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and West Union Police K-9 Unit.

Fayette Man Accused Of Assault

Authorities have charged a Fayette man with assault causing series injury.

Sheriff's officials took 32-year-old Joshua Franzen into custody Friday afternoon after investigating a report of an assault on Kornhill Road west of Wadena. Authorities said the probe revealed that Franzen physically assaulted another man, who suffered injuries in the attack.

The victim was taken to the West Union hospital by private vehicle to be evaluated and treated.
