With face masks supplies getting low in stores today, it is time to go old fashion and make our own! This is a great way to learn a new skill, be creative and allow masks to be available in stores for those who need them like medical professionals.

I have no sewing skills at all and in cases like these when I need something stitched up, I would normally just ask my mom but I figure it's time to learn a new skill in making my own face mask. So I did some research and found out that the CDC (Center for Disease Control) has put together a list of simple to steps to create a simple cloth face mask. Now you can create a mask out of leggings, shirts, bandanas and so on.

Try out these steps and get creative!

1. Cut out two pieces of 10" inch by 6" inch pieces of cloth and stack them on top of each other.

2. Next, fold the long sides of the cloth 1/4" inch to hem. Once finished, fold the shorter ends in 1/2" inch and stitch down.

3. Uses a long piece of elastic or even a hair band that you can cut open to thread through the hem on the short sides. Once all the way through, tie together to make ear loops. Make sure the knot of the elastic is put inside the hem and then make sure it fits on your face before sewing the elastic in place.

And your done, congrats! If you need some extra help or pictures, go to the CDC website here.
