Several northeast Iowa school districts are dismissing early today, due to an approaching winter storm.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for counties along and south of U.S. Highway 20 and a winter weather advisory for counties bordering U.S. Highway 20 to the north, until 6 AM Tuesday. Snowfall amounts ranging from 3-6" are expected north of U.S. Highway 30, with heavier amounts up to a foot in southern Iowa.

Windy conditions will blow the snow around, reducing visibility at times.

BCLUW: Dismissing 2 hours early; No afternoon preschool

Gladbrook-Reinbeck: All after-school activities canceled; All facilities closed after dismissal of classes

Green Mountain-Garwin: Dismissing 2 hours early; No afternoon preschool

Kirkwood Community College: All locations closing at 2:30 PM

North Tama: Dismissing 2 Hours early. No afternoon preschool.

Union Community: Dismissing 1:15 PM

Vinton-Shellsburg: Dismissing 2 hours early; No afternoon preschool
