Iowa native Ron Livingston played a moderately large role on the hit show 'Sex and the City' back in the late 90s. Livingston was born in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Marion High School. He then went on to study at Yale where he earned his bachelor's degree in Theatre Studies and English Literature.

He's not the only Cedar Rapids native who has gone on to be on television and movies. Ashton Kutcher also was coming up at around the same time as Livingston.

Livingston made his debut as Jack Berger in the fifth season of 'Sex and the City' when he set his sights on Sarah Jessica Parker's character Carrie Bradshaw. Berger and Bradshaw initially meet when he bumps into her at a publisher's meeting.

The two hit it off because they are both writers, and Berger is often described as Carrie's intellectuall counterpart. His character even helped coin the popular phrase "he's just not that into you" during one of his appearances on the show.

Berger was in eight episodes over the course of his stint on the show's fifth and sixth seasons. His also became infamous amongst fans for his choice of a final goodbye; a sticky note with the words, "I'm sorry, I can't, don't hate me."

The characters never interracted again...

And good riddance am I right? Someone who is Iowa nice would never do that.

Livingston is also known for his roles on projects like 'Office Space' another 90s classic which stars Jennifer Aniston, and 'Band of Brothers.' His latest projects include a starring role on the ABC show 'A Million Little Things' which premeired in September of 2018.
