One of my favorite weeks of the year is next week.... Read Across America week! That's right, as a bookworm myself I loved this week when I was in school because we always had special guests come into our classrooms to help bring the books we read to life.

Nowadays, it is very rare to see someone sit down and actually read a book, especially a young person, which is why this Read Across America week is so important. We are able to instill the importance of reading to our youth in order to spread a passion and love for reading and knowledge. Want to be a part of this? Well, you can!

According to KWWL, 150 Waterloo classrooms will be involved in Read Across America and they are looking for volunteers to come to their classrooms to read! The Cedar Valley Jaycees and the Cedar Falls Kiwanis Rough Riders are heading up this important event. They are looking for volunteers to read books to children for 30 minutes on March 6th.
