Pat McAfee’s ESPN Show Coming To Iowa City With WWE Star [VIDEO]

Next week the Iowa women's basketball team will begin another March Madness run at Carver Hawkeye Arena. The buzz around Caitlin Clark and this Iowa team has never been higher and that has the attention of the national sports media. One of ESPN's most popular shows will be broadcasting live from Iowa City next Friday bringing more celebrities to the state of Iowa!

ESPN star Pat McAfee announced yesterday that he is bringing his daily sports talk show seen on ESPN and YouTube to the Field House in Iowa City, according to the Iowa City Press-Citizen. McAfee made the announcement on X, saying that he and his crew will be in town right as Iowa gets set to play its first-round game in the Women's NCAA Tournament. Iowa is likely #1 seed and will host the first two rounds. They'll find out when they play this Sunday.

The Press-Citizen reports that another big name in sports will be making a special stop in Iowa City. WWE superstar Roman Reigns will reportedly be on McAfee's show that Friday. He'll then jet to Milwaukee for WWE Friday Night Smackdown. Former Iowa Hawkeye tight end Dallas Clark is also set to appear on the show that day.

When announcing his stop in Iowa City yesterday, McAfee noted that this is "a cool moment in women's athletics", and that they want to support women's March Madness because it is "electrifying."

McAfee's show was initially produced independently and became a huge hit online. It now airs weekdays on ESPN from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Press-Citizen notes that as for now, the show is scheduled to be filmed inside the Field House in Iowa City. But McAfee noted that they may move to inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena if Iowa doesn't play until Saturday.
