On Friday, January 31, 2014, the No. 3 Iowa Hawkeyes wrestlers traveled to Northwestern University to battle the No. 19 Wildcats.  The hawks won eight of ten matches cruising to a 31-6 win.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Cory Clark (125) - who was making his first appearance since Dec. 30 -- used two takedowns, a reversal, three nearfall points and 3:34 of riding time to win his Big Ten debut, 10-1, at 125.  Clark improved to 13-0 with 10 wins by bonus points.
  • Tony Ramos (133, ranked 3rd in the nation) ) led 2-1 after the first period before scoring five takedowns in the second to build a 13-5 lead. He started on top in the third and locked up an inside cradle to record a fall in 5:24. It was his team-high 10th pin of the season.
  • Nick Moore (165, ranked 4th in the nation) and Nathan Burak (197, ranked 16th in the nation) both earned wins over ranked opponents.
