The "mob" is taking over downtown Cedar Falls. From Al Capone, to Lucky Luciano and Bugsy Siegel you can travel back in time to the Roaring 20's, while you're enjoying some inspired nightlife with Prohibition cocktails, all while you flashback to the sights and sounds from this memorable time in American history.

The Mob Bar opened on New Year's Eve at 419 Main Street in downtown Cedar Falls. Its unique setting, music, drinks, and decor will have you traveling back in time the minute you walk in the door. As reported in the WCF Courier, owner Brian Cohen opened a Mob Bar in Los Angeles in February of 2020. Unfortunate timing to open a bar. It lasted a month. To this day, the state of California still has many stringent restrictions and a stay-at-home order in place. So, Cohen was looking for states with eased restrictions and found the building advertised on-line and fell in love with Cedar Falls Main Street. He also opened a location in Galveston, Texas.

As their website mentions, "the Prohibition era was a fascinating time, with thousands of 'speakeasies' operating in hidden places satisfying the nation’s thirst for forbidden spirits. The Roaring 20’s saw the rise of flappers, jazz and the Mob." And now you can find it, right here in downtown Cedar Falls.

If the 20's aren't "up your alley", check out the building's upstairs portion, called Moonlight Cowgirls, which sounds like a theme that Iowan's would love.
