Major Iowa Music Festival Will Not Return In 2023
Music festivals and concert lineups have been coming out over the past few weeks, just in time for the holidays. One major Iowa music festival won't be announcing a lineup anytime soon.
This time of year is usually when you'll see artists announce massive tours or festival lineups. It's the perfect time to do so really because tickets to a show are perfect gifts for people during the holidays.
if you were thinking of gifting someone with tickets to one Iowa festival, you're going to have to change up your plans.
Country Thunder Music Festival officials have been announcing the lineup for the majority of their shows which take place all across North America. After scrolling through the official CT Music Festival Facebook page a few weeks ago, I noticed that something seemed off.
Country Thunder is a festival brand that hosts various events all across the country and in parts of Canada. According to their official website, they have hosted country music festivals in Wisconsin and Arizona since 1996 and have gradually been growing over the past few decades.
In 2020, Iowa was supposed to host its own Country Thunder festival. This was to be the first Country Thunder Iowa for the franchise. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 that festival in Forest City was scrapped. The new festival formerly known as Tree Town was pushed back and took place in June of 2021.
That initial festival featured music acts like Old Dominion, Kane Brown, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hardy.
This past summer, festival organizers brought in artists like Jackson Dean, Lee Brice, Michael Ray, Kip Moore, Trace Adkins, Travis Tritt, Lainey Wilson, and Chris Young.
2021 was the second, and from the looks of things, FINAL Country Thunder Iowa.
All of the other festivals in the Country Thunder franchise have Facebook and Instagram accounts. When you search up "Country Thunder Iowa" no social media accounts pop up.
Strange...
During the summer these pages were active. From the looks of things, it was deleted.
On the official Country Thunder website, all of the festival locations are marked on a map. This includes the two Canadian festivals, but if you look closely, you'll notice that Iowa IS NOT MARKED.
Also, if you go to the old Country Thunder Iowa webpage this error message pops up.
We reached out to officials at Country Thunder, and they were able to confirm that the festival is "not returning to Iowa in 2023." No word on why the show has been scrapped or whether or not there is a shot of a CT return to the Hawkeye State.
We will keep you updated on the details as they are released.
Check out the full lineup of all of the Country Thunder Festivals that have been announced for next year. There will be some major country artists who will be headlining the festivals in 2023.
For more details about ticket information make sure to check out the official website. Presale for many of these shows have already been announced.
