We've seen a large number of recalls recently. Luckily, we have not heard of many people getting sick locally, but it's always good to be aware of what products are being recalled.

This latest recall is to be aware of is about a popular Iowa product: eggs. Specifically liquid eggs.

On the plus side, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service has labeled this recall a Class III recall.

That means health risks to the consumer are low.

What to Know About this Liquid Egg Recall

The impacted products are liquid eggs distributed by Michigan-based Cargill Kitchen Solutions.

The recall is for 212,000 pounds of liquid egg products that could contain a cleaning sodium hypochlorite, a cleaning solution.

The USDA says the liquid egg items recalled were produced on March 12 and 13, 2025, and are commonly used by food service companies. Iowa is among the states the product was distributed to.

Additionally, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, and Illinois are listed as states where the liquid eggs may show up, though it's possible they were distributed nationwide.

The specific products recalled include:

  • 32-oz. (2-lb.) carton containing “egg beaters ORIGINAL LIQUID EGG SUBSTITUTE” and USE BY AUG 10 2025
  • 32-oz. (2-lb.) carton containing “egg beaters CAGE-FREE ORIGINAL LIQUID EGG SUBSTITUTE” and USE BY AUG 09 2025
  • 32-oz. (2-lb.) carton containing “egg beaters CAGE-FREE ORIGINAL FROZEN EGG SUBSTITUTE” and “egg beaters NO ENJAULADAS ORIGINAL SUSTITUTO DE HUEVO CONGELADO” and USE BY MAR 07 2026
  • 32-oz. (2-lb.) carton containing “Bob Evans Better’n Eggs Made with Real Egg Whites” and USE BY AUG 10 2025

Once again, the recall is listed as a Class III recall, meaning any health risk to the consumer is low. The above-listed products are aimed at food service companies, so it's unlikely you purchased any directly.

If you did, however, purchase any of these products, you should still return them for a refund if possible, or simply throw them away.
