Whether you're committing a parking violation or going the wrong way down a one-way the city of Waterloo may have a ticket waiting for you. Just how steep are these tickets?

Let's take a look at all the great ways the city of Waterloo can charge you for traffic violations.

Violations can range from $15 to $100.

Wow that is a steep difference, thankfully if you find yourself committing a parking violation it should be closer to between $15 and $25.

Thankfully many areas around the Cedar valley still have free parking, but not all areas are doing this, and it's important to keep an eye out for which spots are free or may have a fine waiting for you. You can learn more here.

Waterloo also has other ways you can pay for parking,

PassportParking®, a mobile parking application allows drivers to pay for their parking through their smartphones. The app is powered by the global leader of mobile payments for parking and transit, Passport, serving cities and universities throughout North America.

This allows drivers to pay for over 900 spaces in the downtown area in the easiest way possible. You can also extend their parking session with this.

In addition to single use payments, the City of Waterloo will offer a wallet option within the app which allows users to upload funds into the PassportParking account. The initial upload is for $10 with an option to reload in $10 increments. Drivers can still pay directly through the app without using the wallet feature.

Hilarious Iowa DOT Signs

Well, every Monday the Iowa Department of Transportation puts up a sometimes hilarious, sometimes straightforward message on their road signs across the state. This is called "message Monday" and Iowa DOT tries to entertain and educate drivers through these signs. Here are just a few of our favorites.
