The #8 Iowa State Cyclones (14-3, 2-3) men's basketball team mounted a comeback effort, but they fell short losing to the Texas Longhorns (14-4, 3-2), 86-76.

It was the second consecutive game the Cylcones were tied with their opponents at the half at 36.  ISU got has close as 53-51 in favor of Texas, but several Iowa State players got into foul trouble.  That helped Texas pull away for the win.

After a poor performance against Kansas on Monday, Georges Niang had one of his best perimeter shooting games in defeat. Niang scored 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including tying a career-high with four 3-pointers, six rebounds and five assists.

Up Next: Iowa State get to take a breather and will not play again until Saturday against Kansas State. It will be a matinee at Hilton Coliseum.  Tipoff is set for 12:45 p.m. and the game being shown on the Big 12 Network.
