Iowa High School Girls Basketball Rankings

Six girls high school basketball teams from the Cedar Valley and Northeast Iowa are ranked in this week’s state-wide poll, released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) on Thursday (February 5, 2015).

Waverly-Shell Rock is ranked No. 5 in Class-4A for a second-straight week. The Go-Hawks (19-0) are one of three unbeaten teams remaining in the class and the only team from the area with an unblemished record.

Two area teams are featured in the Class-3A poll. Crestwood (15-2) is ranked sixth for a second-consecutive week, while La Porte City Union (15-4) made its debut in the survey at No. 14.

In Class-2A, Dike-New Hartford (17-2) is the only area team among the top 15. The Wolverines moved up one spot to No. 5 after being ranked sixth last week.

The Class-1A ratings feature both Turkey Valley and Janesville, both of whom moved up slightly in the survey. Turkey Valley (19-1) jumped two spots to No. 8 following a No. 10 ranking last week. Janesville (18-1) climbed to No. 12 from No. 13.
