U.S. News & World Report just revealed their annual list of Best Places to Live in America for 2019 and a huge Iowa city made the top 5 list! Before I unveil which city it was that made the list, let's look at what they based their list off of.

The 2019 list looks at the country's 125 most populous metropolitan areas. They looked at affordability of living in the area, job prospects and quality of life to put together this list. The list was determined also using a public survey of thousands of individuals throughout the U.S. to find out what qualities they consider important in a hometown along with factoring in data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

So which Iowa city made the list? Des Moines, Iowa was number 5 on the list of the best places to live in America in 2019! Maybe this is not surprising to those who live there as it is a very populous city and has a lot going on, but it is pretty cool that Iowa made the list!
