Hy-Vee Gets Rid of Helpful Employee Perk
The big Iowa based grocery store chain decided to change some things up.

Employees do not seem to be too happy about Hy-Vee's latest decision. Officials from the grocery store are blaming multiple employees who abused a certain privilege.
Effective Monday, February 20th, Hy-Vee grocery store employees will be losing out on a big perk of the job: the 10% employee discount. This benefit has been a part of the Hy-Vee employee package since December of 2020.
Along with that discount, employees also received a 20% discount on dine-in orders at their restaurants, as well as a Hy-Vee Plus membership. The "Employee Discount" page on the Hy-Vee website is no longer working. So, there is no word if the other perks have been pushed to the wayside as well.
According to a report from We Are Iowa, a company official confirmed that over the span of one weekend multiple employees abused the discount.
One of the claims involves one case of one employee discount being used in five states in the span of one hour.
Officials do want to bring back the discount perk for employees eventually. The plan initially was to hopefully get it back sometime this summer. As of February 21st, Hy-Vee officials were able to confirm that some sort of discount will return sometime in April.
