One of the things that "salvaged" last summer for me was being able to go to Waterloo Bucks baseball games. It was the perfect socially-distanced activity. This summer, fingers-crossed, the Bucks will return to a "normal" schedule that starts on time.

As of now, it's "full speed ahead", as the 2021 schedule has them playing 72 games. As you might remember, this past summer, the coronavirus outbreak delayed the start of Waterloo's season from May 26 to July 1. The Bucks played 41 games under a revised "pod" schedule that limited travel during the pandemic. At least it ended on a good note, as the Bucks ended up winning the Minnesota-Iowa Region championship.

Looking forward to this summer. Waterloo's 2021 schedule features 36-home games at Riverfront Stadium that begins on June 3rd against the Rochester Honkers. You and your family can be a part of the team in a very special way. The Bucks are looking for more families to join its Host Family Program. The young men who play for the Bucks each season come from all corners of the U.S. to Waterloo for a chance to better their playing skills and be seen by professional scouts. You can help make their journey easier by hosting them in your home. It is a rewarding experience that many families continue to do year after year.

As the Bucks website mentions, there's many benefits that come with being a host family. For instance, the player will be a positive role model for your children, and you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the future of a young man. Plus, you get to watch Bucks Baseball all season. "Every member of your immediate family will receive complimentary Reserved Seat season tickets. Any family who hosts multiple players will receive Box Seat season tickets for every member of the immediate family." Besides, you might be getting to know a future star.
