Week five of the high school football season gets an early start in eastern Iowa with a Thursday night game.

Cedar Rapids Kennedy, the No. 1 team in Class 5A (Associated Press poll), hosts Dubuque Senior at Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids. The top-ranked Cougars are 4-0. The unranked Rams are 3-1.

For the first time this season, none of the games being played across the region feature head-to-head match-ups of rated teams. In the eight-player class, No. 7 Janesville (4-0) hosts a Jackson Junction-based Turkey Valley team (4-0) in a pivotal game that ultimately could decide the champion of district three.
