Gov. Reynolds: Iowans Need to Take More COVID Precautions

As COID-19 cases in Iowa continue to increase at a dramatic rate, with the state reporting a record 4,562 new COVID-19 cases in 24-hours (for a grand total of 140,609), Governor Kim Reynolds is asking Iowans to take more precautions. In a press conference today, her first COVID presser in almost a month, Reynolds plead with Iowans to take additional steps to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

While the governor asked Iowans to take additional steps, she stopped short of slapping any new mitigation plans on Iowans. According to KCCI, Reynolds revealed a new media campaign that will kick off next week and would include radio, television and newspaper ads aimed at informing Iowans to take more precautions.

Closer to home, Black Hawk County has seen 106 COVID-19 deaths, and a nearly 22% infection rate over the past 14 days according to the counties COVID reporting page. The counties risk level has been switched back to high. Dr. Nafissa Cisse Egbuonye in a press conference in late October that residents should practice 'the three W's'.
