Authorities in Hardin County are investigating a death, which they have labeled as suspicious.

According to sheriff's officials, the probe began Tuesday around 5:30 AM. That's when deputies received a report that an someone had found an unresponsive male and they were dispatched to the location to investigation.

A home at 302 Commercial Street in Union, about 21 miles northwest of Marshalltown, is the focus of the investigation. One person has been confirmed dead.

Authorities said sheriff's deputies located a deceased male in the bedroom of the home when they arrived. They deemed the death suspicious.

Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Called To Assist

Hardin County sheriff's officials are currently investigating the death. The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation is also involved in the case.

No other information about the investigation has been released. Authorities said they won't identify the victim until all of his relatives have been notified.
