Dang Flabbit! Iowans Don’t Curse…Much
Iowans don't swear...according to some sort of science.
A recent study came out that gave us a better insight into just how much soap we should be using to clean out our mouths with. According to a site called Word Tips, Iowa doesn't freakin' curse much compared to the rest of the country.
Researchers found this out by analyzing tweets from all 50 U.S. states and 320 cities.
Essentially this study is figuring out the percentage of curse words tweeted out per state.
Some of the big takeaways from the study are that Americans LOVE dropping the f bomb (no surprise there) and that the state of Georgia curses the most. On the opposite end of the spectrum, a Midwestern state actually has the title of state with the cleanest mouth.
Minnesota swears the least compared to the rest of the country with Minneapolis being crowned the city that curses the least.
Where the heck does Iowa fall on this list?
This study found a few interesting things about the Hawkeye State and our cursing habits.
Iowa falls at the very bottom of this study, coming in at 45 out of 50. Our favorite curse word is unique compared to the rest of the country. Most states claim the f bomb or sh*t as their favorite curse word.
This study claims that Iowans most used curse word is...p***y. If you're not sure what that expletive is, it's another word for a cat.
