New Country-Themed Bar to Open in Dowtown Iowa City
The Corridor is about to get a new country bar!
According to the Iowa City Downtown District, Iowa Ave. Hospitality Group, known for bars including Scout's Honor and Camp, will be adding a third bar to their lineup. This one will be a country-themed establishment simply called, 'Giddy-Up'. The group is renovating the space formerly held by the bar Pints at 118 South Clinton Street in Iowa City. It will be the first fully 'country' bar in the downtown area.
According to the Downtown District, the new bar will span 3,500 square feet including a large dance floor. The bar will have more of a nostalgic country-western theme with a contemporary twist. Giddy-Up will feature wooden walls, a shiplap bar, and other rustic elements that will give off an old-time saloon vibe. The Downtown District adds that there will be plenty of country videos playing on screens throughout the bar and line dancing on boot scootin' Sundays.
Owner Josh Imerfall told the Downtown District that they can't wait to open up the new establishment.
Giddy Up is our ode to country living, and we can't wait to bring this unique concept to downtown Iowa City.
So when will you be able to saddle up at Iowa City's new country bar? CBS2 reports that Giddy-Up is planning on opening sometime in February, but an exact opening day has not yet been announced. We can't wait to check out the latest country-themed establishment in the Corridor. It's almost time to Giddy-Up!
