It seems like over the course of 2024, there have been a significant amount of product recalls.

From apple juice to ground beef, it seems like something is always being recalled.

If you did your grocery shopping at Hy-Vee over the past few months, make sure one sweet treat that you picked up has not been recalled.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that the Hy-Vee To Go Cookies & Cream Mix is being recalled. This mix has been shipped out to grocery stores in eight states, including Iowa.

Other states affected by this are Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

This product was made by a third-party manufacturer, FDA officials claim.

"These products are manufactured at different third-party facilities around the Midwest and are sold under HyVee's private label and bulk packaging programs."

What Is the Reason for the Recall?

The Hy-Vee To Go Cookies & Cream Mix is being recalled due to a risk of the product containing salmonella.

What is the Health Risk Level?

In early May, several Hy-Vee products were recalled. This cookie mix was one of those items, according to reports.

Just about a month later, the FDA determined the health risk classification, and it's not great.

The health hazzard for the Hy-Vee To Go Cookies & Cream Mix has been classified as a Class I hazzard.

This is the highest risk category.

Has Anyone Gotten Sick From It?

Recalls like this one have one main goal...

Make sure no one gets sick or injured from said product that is being recalled.

Luckily, it does not appear that anyone has gotten sick as of yet from the consumption of these cookies. Officials confirm that there have been no reports of any illness as a result of eating the product.

In an official notice from the FDA, officials stated;

"The manufacturers of these products notified Hy-Vee of the potential issue and out of an abundance of caution Hy-Vee is voluntarily recalling these specific products."
