I am working on creating a new youth baseball league in and around Black Hawk (Iowa) county. I'm looking for teams and players to help form the "Cedar Valley Baseball League".  Even if you do not have a child that plays youth baseball, you may have friends that do.  Please help spread the word.

For the past five years, I have been coaching, in some form or another, for various USSSA baseball teams. I truly love this game, and I also love teaching this game to the kids. I am on a mission to create the "Cedar Valley Baseball League" for teams and players that play under the USSSA banner. Right now, teams in the Black Hawk county area have to travel to Cedar Rapids in order to play in a league. I want to create that same environment right here.

CVBL OVERVIEW:
The goal of the Cedar Valley Baseball League (CVBL) is to provide teams (9u-12u) and players (ages 9-12) that want a more competitive level of play. It will provide an opportunity for these teams to work on training their team in a non-tournament environment.

This programs is not your basic metro/recreational league. It is for the more serious team and ball player with the skills and commitment to playing the game at a higher level.  Learn more at CedarValleyBaseball.com.

USSSA SANCTIONED:
The CVBL will be a sanctioned USSSA league.  The target classification is A/AA, but will entertain AAA teams can still be considered. Seven (7) to eight (8) games will be scheduled per team. Most games will be played during the week (Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday). This will allow teams to still travel and compete in weekend tournaments.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED: Players
So far, there have been three USSSA Baseball Clubs that have expressed interest in the CVBL: Full Count Sports Academy, Heat Baseball Club, & Waterloo Junior Wahawks.  Each already field teams that travel and player under the USSSA banner.  Each will also be looking to add tot heir roster(s).

I have contacted each requesting 2015 tryout information.  Currently only Full Count Sports Academy has supplied information.  They will be holding tryouts on Saturday, August 2 at Bridsall Complex in Cedar Falls (sign up).  There will be a $10 tryout fee.

The Heat Baseball Club tryout information can be obtained by contacting Mike Knipp via email or 319-610-3202.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED: Teams
If you have a team that you would like to join, you can email me at info@cedarvalleybaseball.com.  You can also learn more at CedarValleyBaseball.com.  Whether you are currently playing under the USSSA banner or not, please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
