The University of Northern Iowa has been putting on something called "Amp Camp" for the past several years. It is a summer music camp that takes place at UNI's School of Music.

Young attendees ranging between the ages of 9 and 19 will learn how to jam out from some of Eastern Iowa's best and brightest musicians. They will cover various musical styles ranging from country, pop, rock, hip-hop, and R&B, according to the official website.

No musical experience is needed for this four-day musical camp. Amp Camp will take place over the course of several days, starting on July 17th and wrapping up July 21st.

If you register before June 1st, you'll be able to get a deal on the registration fees.

Early Registration Fees (Before June 1st):

Commuter (Ages 9-11) - $375
Commuter (Ages 12-19) - $390 
Residence (Ages 12-19) - $650

Regular Registration Fees (On or After June 1st):

Commuter (Ages 9-11) - $425
Commuter (Ages 12-19) - $440 
Residence (Ages 12-19) - $700

The registration fees cover the workshops/masterclasses, band practice with coaches, end of camp jamfest, and a camp t-shirt.

I fell into a rabbit hole when I found out that Roseanne Barr almost had a mansion in Iowa. After seeing the current state of the property on Facebook, I was amazed that such an extravagant project could be so quickly overtaken by nature. Only two hours away from Waterloo, this abandoned field could have hosted some of the coolest and elite Hollywood parties in the Midwest.
