Cedar Falls Restaurant To Close Doors ‘Temporarily’
It's never a good thing when a favorite local business shuts down, even if it's allegedly temporary.

The news came out on Monday afternoon that a Cedar Falls restaurant that's been open for a little over a year might not be around for much longer. In a Facebook post from Carter House Market & Cafe, the restaurant staff announced the business' imminent closure.
Carter House, located in Downtown Cedar Falls and attached to the Black Hawk Hotel, opened for business in August 2021. We shared the news of the initial opening.
It is a takeout-friendly menu with items like sandwiches, salads, and even picnic basket meals. Some other items they'll have include charcuterie boards, lasagna, and even deli sides.
The official statement that came out from social media, goes into more depth about the closing.
"The current economic headwinds are proving too difficult to overcome, so we will be taking this time to rest and regroup."
That doesn't mean that Carter House is saying goodbye for good, just for now!
"We are so proud of what we’ve built with Carter House, with ample thanks owed to our wonderful team, local purveyors, and the support of our customers & community. We thank you for your continued support and hope to see you again soon!"
The restaurant will be open during regular business hours all this week. Carter House will close its doors for the time being on Friday, September 16th.
Most of the store's inventory will be sold all this week at a discounted price.
