While everyone else in the country was talking about the Philadelphia Eagles win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night, people here in Iowa were cheering exceptionally loud during the commercials.

Of course there were some Iowans playing in the actual 59th Super Bowl.

Rookie and University of Iowa alum Cooper DeJean celebrated his 22nd birthday in New Orleans AND had a pick 6 during his first ever NFL championship appearance.

This moment is described as "one of the more important plays" of Sunday evening's game.

Take a deeper dive into this moment here.

A Mount Vernon native turned South Dakota standout also took to the gridiron on February 9th, 2025.

Jack Cochrane of the Kansas City Chiefs entered his third season playing with the Chiefs in 2024. This was actually the 26-year-old's third appearance in the Super Bowl, and unfortunately his very first loss.

Cochrane also sustained a late season injury, which caused him to sit out of the final matchup of the season.

Could his fractured ankle in the Chiefs game against Houston been the thing that caused the team to come just shy of a three-peat?

Who's to say?

Caitlin Clark's Appearance in the Nike Ad

My personal favorite moment of the night had nothing to do with the actual game being played on the field, but a single commercial.

Specifically the newest Nike ad. Entitled "So Win" this commercial for one of the top sports brand in the world, featured some of the most well-known women in the world of sports

Narrated by Grammy winning artist Doechii this minute long video just blew me away.

Here are the big names that appeared in this minute long commercial. How they were able to fit everyone in there is still a big shock for me.

  • Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles
  • WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson
  • U.S. Soccer's Sophia Wilson
  • New York Liberty Guard Sabrina Ionescu
  • Olympic track and field sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson
  • USC Trojans guard JuJu Watkins
  • Spain women's national football team member (Queen of the Pitch) Alexia Putellas
  • Iowa collegiate star turned WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark

Iowa's own Caitlin Clark is the second athlete that appears on the screen in the commercial.

The West Des Moines native looked absolutely hard-core in the commercial. We get to see flashbacks to a deep three from her rookie season with the Fever as well as her hyping up the crowd during an Iowa game.

I don't want to spoil the entire video for you, so watch the full thing down below!

Everyone watches women's sports, now the world (and advertisers) are catching up and putting their money with their mouth is.

It's epic to see so many powerful women, of all different heritages, skills, and accomplishments taking center stage. Clark as well as every woman featured in the commercial are true inspirations to not only myself but the next generations of women.

Keep on keeping on, ladies!
