The Black Hawks just can't buy a win, and it's not for lack of effort. In a good sign for the rest of the season, the team is playing hard and hopefully that will translate into some wins as the back half of the schedule plays out. There's 30 games left on the regular season schedule and it's a long time until the end of April, so hopefully, they don't have "far-to-go".

SATURDAY NIGHT VS. FARGO
According to a team game recap: Waterloo's netminder Emmett Croteau stopped more shots, but Brennan Boynton of the Fargo Force came away with the win during a 2-1 tilt at Young Arena Saturday.
In just his 2nd start, Croteau turned aside 33 of 35 chances, including 15 saves in the 2nd period. Boynton’s second win of the weekend came with saves on the other 25 Black Hawks shots. Waterloo's only goal came in the first minute of the 2nd period. Michael LaStarza kept the puck away behind the Force's goal until he could wrap it around the net from the post to the left of Boynton. The Force held off the Black Hawks during the 3rd period, despite a 8-7 edge in Waterloo chances.

FRIDAY NIGHT VS. FARGO
Fargo's Tristan Broz scored twice Friday, including the eventual game-winning goal, to provide the Force’s 3-2 victory over Waterloo. All the Black Hawks' scoring came in the 2nd period, including when Owen Ozar stole the puck behind the Fargo net, setting up Alex Gaffney in the slot for a goal. The Black Hawks managed six minutes of shorthanded time in the middle of the period, then capitalized when they went to a late power play. Luke Bast blasted a shot in the next, scoring in his first appearance since early December. Fargo's Brennan Boynton had a 19-save performance for the win.

NEXT UP ON THE SCHEDULE
Waterloo will go on the road for the first time since mid-January to visit the Dubuque Fighting Saints on Friday night. Then the team returns home to take on the Tri-City Storm on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon in a Valentine's Day match-up.
