The Waterloo Black Hawks played their last set of home games before Christmas this past weekend, and came up short of a victory on both nights.

FRIDAY NIGHT VS. GREEN BAY
The Green Bay Gamblers were in town for their only visit to Young Arena this year, and they escaped with a 2-1 win over Waterloo. According to the team's press release, Gamblers' defenseman Mason Lohrei has scored four goals this season and all of them have been game-winners, including his third period tally Friday night. Lohrei also assisted on the other Green Bay goal in the first period. The Black Hawks tied the game in the second period with a goal by Tucker Ness. In the win, Gambler's goalie Aaron Randazzo made a total of 43 saves. Waterloo's Charlie Glockner made 38 stops in the loss.

SATURDAY NIGHT VS. SIOUX CITY
On Saturday night, Waterloo came up short in a 5-3 contest against the Sioux City Musketeers in Party Town. Waterloo jumped ahead by scoring on their first two chances of the night with goals from Michael LaStarza and the early season goal-leader Owen Ozar. However, Sioux City rallied to the lead in the 2nd period with three goals. For the second time on Saturday, Sioux City scored in the first minute after an intermission. The Musketeer's Brian Carrabes set up Carter Loney from close range for the eventual game-winner. Justin Hryckowian capped the scoring with an empty-netter with 2.2 seconds to go. Sioux City has now won two of three games against the Black Hawks this year, with three head-to-head matchups remaining on the schedule. The teams face each other again on the day after Christmas.
