Another Of Iowa’s Neighbors Cancels Their State Fair
Unfortunately as more and more summer fairs and festivals choose to cancel to keep patrons and residents safe, we're seeing less and less on the calendar this summer. While we wait to see what the Iowa State Fair, arguably the biggest summer party our state has, chooses to do, you can add another state fair to the 'cancel column'.
The Wisconsin State Fair has been canceled for 2020. According to FOX 6 in Milwaukee, the fair grounds chairman announced that,
For the safety of fairgoers, staff, vendors, entertainers, exhibitors, sponsors, suppliers and the broader community, the 2020 Wisconsin State Fair has been canceled.
Like the Iowa State Fair, Wisconsin's fair runs in August and features music, fair food, animals and lots of entertainment for its annual event. The fair is held in West Allis, Wisconsin which is about 10 minutes outside Milwaukee. Last week Minnesota's State Fair announced it was nixing its 2020 fair amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Iowa's fair board will make their decision in June. As we wait to see what will happen with our fair, we can at least take pride in knowing if we don't have one, our neighbors are in the same boat.
