Americans Want Sports Back Even If It Means Empty Stadiums
This pandemic has taken a lot of our favorite activities from us, from concerts to fairs and especially sports. We can't gather in crowds, we can't enjoy our greasy stadium food and we can't get an adrenaline rush from watching our favorite teams take on their big rivals.
Basically a lot of the fun in our lives has been taken away during the pandemic but now the question becomes, are we willing to give up these experiences live and sit in front of a TV screen just to get our sports back? Well according to a new survey via Morning Consult, if you would have asked Americans a month ago if they wanted sports to resume with empty arenas and only televised events the answer would have probably been no. In fact, only 30% of Americans chose to resume the sports as soon as possible with empty venues.
However it looks like those feelings have a changed a month later. The survey has revealed that as of May 21st, 41% of Americans have agreed that they want sports to resume as soon as possible even if it means empty arenas. Looks like that quarantine is getting to us and we want our sports back at any safe cost!
What do you think? Would you rather wait until the pandemic is over for sports to start to go to an arena or have them start now playing to empty arenas?
