Just like the rest of the country, Iowa loves the convenience of shopping on Amazon.

You can buy so many different things, and have them delivered to your house, all while sitting on the couch eating a bag of Doritos. There is no denying that buying things from Amazon can save you the time and hassle of having to physically go shopping.

You can buy groceries, clothes, baby products, electronics, books, sporting goods, lawn and garden items, jewelry, watch TV, and almost anything you can think of on Amazon. There's a clear reason why this platform has gone on to be one of the biggest companies in the world.

I'm convinced I'm one of the very few people left who don't have an Amazon account. My wife does...and I've used her account to get things I've wanted/needed but that might happen twice a year. Iowa as a whole isn't the state that is most obsessed with Amazon but Iowans who do shop on Amazon are likely never going to give it up.

Abstain From Amazon Forever!

According to TransImpact, only 5.88% of Iowans could lay off the Amazon juice for the rest of their lives. If you asked 100 people from Iowa "could you give up Amazon forever?" Not even 6 Iowans believe they could realistically do it.

There were 4 states that did not produce enough responses to the survey to be included in the findings of the study but out of the 46 states that did produce enough responses to the survey, Iowa has the least amount of people who could give up Amazon forever.

Why is This? [Opinion]

In my opinion, the reason why Iowans will never give up Amazon is due to convenience and then lack of other options. Iowa currently has 636 cities that are considered "small towns" by the United States census Bureau. A small town was defined as a city with a population of 5,000 or less people.

One of the things that make Iowa so special and unique is how many small towns make up our state. This can lead to either having to drive a long way to find a certain store or certain stores simply don't exists in a location that's realistic to drive too. Instead of making a 2 or 3 hour trip to a mall or bigger box store for a certain item, people will just sit at home and have that item delivered to them.

Shopping local is important and helps a community thrive but even the best small towns will have a limited number of options for people to spend their money at.

I'm not surprised to find out that people in Iowa love Amazon. It feels like every one in the United States loves Amazon. I was a bit surprised to find out that if you ask an Iowan to give up using Amazon for the rest of their life, almost every Iowan who uses Amazon would say they can't/won't do it.
