ORIGINAL STORY 3/3:

A popular Iowa performer will be taking her talents to a new competition show this month!

Local singer/songwriter Alisabeth Von Presley has revealed on social media that she will be representing the state of Iowa on the new NBC show called "American Song Contest." The show is meant to be the American version of the popular "Eurovision Song Contest," and it will feature performers from all across the U.S. According to the website:

"An incredible solo artist, duo, DJ or a band will represent each location and will perform a new, original song, celebrating the different styles and genres across America. The live competition consists of three rounds as the acts compete in a series of Qualifying Rounds, followed by the Semi Finals and the ultimate Grand Final where one state or territory will emerge victorious."

The wildly talented Alisabeth Von Presley will be the sole artist from Iowa, and I can't think of a better person to represent our state! She made the big reveal on social media this afternoon writing:

"I'm *ECSTATIC* to announce that I'm representing I-O-W-A on NBC's #AmericanSongContest, premiering March 21!

Snoop Dogg & Kelly Clarkson's lives just got a whole lot PINKER!"

We can't WAIT to hear the amazing song that Alisabeth has created for "American Song Contest." We know she will make us proud! You can follow her journey and get the latest updates by following her on Facebook HERE.
