Massive Grocery Store in Iowa is Increasing Its Starting Pay and They’re Hiring!
The spring and summer of 2024 has been filled with sad news in the job market here in Iowa. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A JOB, this could be exactly what you and/or your family needs.
Hundreds of eastern Iowa families have been dealt with the sad and scary news of someone in their family losing their job. It is predicted that by October of 2024, 2,701 jobs will have been lost at John Deere alone. We've seen tons of restaurants in Iowa go out of business like Red Lobster, Cracker Barrel, Applebee's, and Denny's. We've also seen plenty of local restaurants closing their doors in eastern Iowa over the past year.
While the job market has been flooded with bad news over the past 1+ year, a MASSIVE grocery store chain, that is extremely popular in Iowa, might be coming to our rescue.
Aldi is hiring and is raising it's starting pay for employees. The best part is that the pay is extremely fair.
Hiring Surge
If you're looking for a job...Aldi might be a fantastic place to start! The starting pay looks fantastic for someone who needs to get back to work.
The popular grocery store is continuing to grow and they're hoping any new employee wants to grow with them. According to KCRG, Aldi's new starting wage for store employees will be $18 an hour and the starting wage for warehouse workers will be $23 an hour.
After some quick math, $18 per hour is around $37,000 per year, if you work full time. For warehouse workers, at $23 an hour, you would be just shy of making $48,000 per year. Once again, that is if you work full time. *These numbers might not be exact depending on the amount of hours you work but they can be used as a rough guidline.*
Not only will the starting wages at Aldi be increasing, any Aldi employee who works at least 30 hours per week will be able to receive benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. Even if you're shy of working a full 40 hour work week, you will still be eligible to receive benefits from Adli.
New employee perks were introduced by Aldi in 2023 which now include flexible scheduling as well as 100% paid parental and caregiver leave. According to KCRG, Aldi is hoping to hire more than 13,000 store and warehouse workers in preparation for the holidays and they will continue to open more stores around the country.
If you or you family have suffered the wrath from the job market over the past 1+ year, Aldi could possibly be the answer to your prayers. At the very least, one of these jobs could help keep you afloat if you're looking for a job in a different field.
