According to a report from KWWL, on Monday February 21st a semi truck rolled over, spilling its cargo onto the road in the late evening. The accident occurred on Highway 218 right along the intersection of Mitchell Avenue northbound.

Traffic was slowed in that area for a few hours as officials came into clean it up. Now everything seems good to go!

The product he was transporting cluttered up the street. Drivers who were able to pass by saw chunks of juicy watermelon all across this northbound road.

That's right...huge watermelon spilled out along this road in Waterloo.

Now the driver of this semi is in police custody. Officials are saying that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Reports say that the driver tried to avoid a sign, but ended up hitting a crash cushion AND the sign.

On a breathalyzer, the driver ended up having an alcohol intake of over 0.08% the legal limit. A vehicle behind this semi driver is claiming that this incident caused some damage to his semi as well.

This action caused the doors on the vehicle to open up and spill the watermelon.

Luckily, no one is hurt but this driver has been arrested.

It looks like the driver should've taken the advice of the great Tracy Byrd...

"Help yourself to some, but obey the law; if you drink, don't drive, do the watermelon crawl!"
