On Saturday in the Uinta Mountains in Utah (the highest mountains in the state) two brother and three of their friends were snowmobiling in an area where they have been many many times before. So it was an area that they were quite familiar with.

Miles Penrose wrote on his Facebook page that he could feel the mountain shake, he turned and looked up to see a wave of snow tumbling down the mountain directly towards them.

Amazingly, no one was injured, despite four of them getting buried under the snow.

Earlier in the day, about 200 miles to the west of this location, four skiers were killed during an avalanche in Salt Lake Valley.
