[UPDATE] Victim In Ongoing Waterloo Homicide Case Identified
These are the latest details concerning a homicide as of 11:00 AM on January 27th, 2023.
Authorities are currently investigating a homicide that took place in Northeastern Iowa.
An unfortunate tragedy took place in the city earlier this week that left one man dead.
On the morning of Thursday January 26th police were called to look into a report of vandalism in Waterloo, officials confirmed. The incident took place somewhere on the 500 block of Dawson Street just before 2 AM that morning.
In an official press release from the Waterloo Police Department, upon arrival at the scene, officers found a man stabbed and a parked vehicle with a slashed tire. They immediately started life saving measures until Waterloo Fire Personnel came and took over.
These officials then transported him to a hospital.
Waterloo investigators have identified the victim of this crime as 56 year old Mack Bass of Waterloo.
He was pronounced dead from his injuries after being taken to UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital. People who might have any information about the incident are being asked to contact the Waterloo Police Detective Division at (319) 291-4340 extension #3.
