Kids all across Eastern Iowa are starting their Valentine's Day weekend, just a bit early.

Our weather partners at KCRG-TV are predicting a Friday night snow event.

Meteorologist Joe Winters is forecasting that a "burst of moderate to heavy snow" is set to hit just north of I-80.

It seems like this snow might start late this afternoon and last until the evening.

Plus, with some gusty winds from the southeast, it looks like road conditions might be slick this Friday night.

Multiple schools are taking precautions this afternoon and calling for early dismissals.
