Traffic Switch On Viking Road Project In Cedar Falls Starts Monday

The ongoing construction on Iowa 58 and Viking Road in Cedar Falls continues with a big change coming Monday. According to the Iowa DOT, starting this Monday, July 15th from 8pm until 6am on July 16th, a traffic shift will take place on Viking Road.

Traffic will be moved over to the newly completed portion of roadway and bridge, in a head-to-head pattern, thus allowing the south half of the bridge to be built by construction crews.

During this traffic shift, the intersection will be closed, and traffic detoured using Greenhill Road, Hudson Road and the detour currently in place for Ridgeway Avenue.

This construction is part of a two-year project scheduled to finish up this November.
