Three cars driven by drunk drivers crashed into each other in Wisconsin early Sunday morning, according to the Mount Pleasant Police Department.

At around 2:45 a.m. Sunday, an F250 pickup truck drifted across lanes, heading straight for SUV. The driver of the SUV attempted to swerve, but was still hit head-on.

Moments later, a Chevrolet Equinox hit the F250.

The SUV ended up catching fire was fully engulfed by the time officers arrived, and the driver had fled the scene.

All three were arrested on suspicion of OWI. The driver of the F250 was a 56-year-old who was arrested for his third OWI.

Traffic in the area was shut down for several hours.

Mt. Pleasant is located in the Milwaukee-metro area.

In 2019 --- 27,785 people were arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) in Wisconsin, including 298 persons who were under 18.
