The Best “Budget” Vacation Ideas Close To The Cedar Valley
You may have already had your big trip this year, but if you want to go on another one (because yes, you absolutely deserve two vacations in 2021) or if you're just brainstorming the next special spot for you and your family, we have a quick list of some of the best-priced spots that are pretty quick drives from right here in the Cedar Valley!
Vacations are important to me and probably most other people because they truly help you to escape the stress of the "real world." Everyone deserves a break, especially when we are just now beginning to return to normalcy and can actually vacation again. If you haven't had a chance to take a trip yet, hopefully one of these spots will offer you something great!
1. Wisconsin Dells
Let's get the obvious one out of the way first! We all know about the Dells, but this spot is perfect for a week-long trip, or just a quick weekend stop. It has countless different activities like water parks, and many of the parks offer great deals for families. Here are a few:
2. Cedar Valley Resort
The Cedar Valley Resort is perfect for big families for a quick, and memorable trip! It offers a look at some beautiful scenery as well! Offering over 60 miles of hiking trails and being only 5 miles from Downtown, you don't want to miss out on this spot.
3. Mall Of America
This one is a bit of a drive, but the Mall of America has so much to offer that this trip almost needs to be longer than just a weekend trip. There are days of activities here, too many to list, and it is surrounded by hotels ranging from all prices.
4. Adventureland
Adventureland is much more than just a day trip, with a theme park and waterpark, it's the perfect place to spend a couple of days. But wait, there's more! Right next to the park is their Adventureland Hotel, so once you and the family are exhausted from a day of fun, you're comfy and cozy beds are just a short drive or walk away. If you have a free weekend, this may be the spot for you!
5. Grand Harbor Resort and Waterpark
Located in the Port of Dubuque, Iowa, the Grand Harbor Resort and Waterpark is an ideal and well-priced weekend vacation! Situated literally right next to the Mississippi River, you can even plan a day to spend at the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium.
6. Lost Island Water Park
This is another pretty obvious one and a true staple of the Midwest. A great day trip for everyone! Lost Island has a great waterpark and an amazing theme park on the way if you want to make a quick pitstop for some rides.
There are also great day trips too:
