Caitlin Clark Name Dropped On Late Night Show [WATCH]
Caitlin Clark has been having a MOMENT.
Of course, all of us here in the Hawkeye State know that Clark has been killing it in college hoops from the moment she stepped onto the court.
Last year, the team, led by Head Coach Lisa Bluder, made it all the way to the finals of the NCAA tournament.
This year, Clark broke and set multiple records for NCAA scoring. Not only is she the highest scorer in women's NCAA basketball history, but she also soared past Pistol Pete's NCAA basketball scoring record.
When you break these sorts of records and get the entire country to pay closer attention to women's sports, major legends will know your name.
Tonight Show Highlights Women's Sports
Jimmy Fallon had the 5-time Olympic Gold Medalist and basketball legend Sue Bird on his show on International Women's Day (Friday, March 8th, 2024).
They were discussing the common misconception that no one watches women's sports, Fallon remarked on how exciting it's been to watch women's basketball recently when he brought up Iowa's own Caitlin Clark.
Can you just imagine turning on one of the most popular late-night shows and hearing a legend like Sue Bird talking about you with Jimmy Fallon?
Crazy!
"She's obviously doing amazing. Her game speaks for itself. I think my favorite part is just women's basketball, women's sports, really, has been on the rise," the two-time NCAA champion explained.
"It's kind of like what Magic and Bird was to men's basketball. Like this moment, we kind of needed something to just like," she makes a skyrocketing gesture with her hands.
"...and Cailtin is that moment."
What is it about Caitlin Clark that has the entire nation so enraptured by her?
Bird believes it's her 3-pointers that she makes from the logo that really have everyone obsessed with her.
A lot of the haters who cannot stand the idea of women's sports, let alone women's basketball being entertaining try to argue the validity of these players. Claiming that just because they are women, they cannot be nearly as good as the men playing hoops.
"But you can't really talk trash on a logo-3!" Bird said, referencing those haters.

While this will be Clark's final season with the Hawkeyes, we will most likely see just a bit more of her during the NCAA tournament this month.
However, to tide you over until the tourney kicks off, let's take a walk down memory lane and look back at some of our favorite moments with Caitlin Clark.
