
Another Restaurant Giant is Filing For Bankruptcy in Iowa
It's been a difficult few years for major chains. We have learned about more and more giants in food and retail closing down.
While we are always rooting for local businesses to do well, it doesn't mean there aren't major chains we don't still enjoy eating at.

Sometimes it feels like places close even though they appear to be thriving.

Red Lobster, for example, closed its Waterloo location in 2024 despite the restaurant often being busy.
Another Huge Chain is Closing Locations Amidst Bankruptcy
We've learned that Hooters has filed for bankruptcy. It joins other chains that have recently done so as well, like TGI Friday's and Red Lobster.
It wasn't long ago that the chain announced it was changing up its image to be more family-friendly.

While Hooters plans to stay operational during its bankruptcy, with 305 locations in 29 U.S. states and 17 countries, you'd imagine some would have to shut down.
Does Iowa Still Have Any Hooters Locations?
Iowa has, as of this writing, two locations. Located on opposite sides of the state, Davenport and Council Bluffs.
With the confirmation of bankruptcy for Hooters, what does that mean for the two Iowa locations?

As of now, there have been no announced plans to close either of the two Iowa locations.
