Discover Cedar Falls’ Newest Book Café
A new book themed café is finally opening up for business in Downtown Cedar Falls.
Ever since last November, a new bookstore called the Nook, located at 216 Main Street has become a must-visit when dropping into the Cedar Valley.
This independent bookstore specializes in new books, but they do have a small used section up at the front of their shop.
You can pick up adult, young adult, and children's books as well as candles, greeting cards, stickers, etc.
Now the store is expanding and will be adding a new bookish themed café right next door.
Reader's Cup Opens In Cedar Falls
Owners Abby and Brandon shared that the new venture called Reader's Cup would provide more room for bookshelves, expanded genres, and seating.
At the front of this space will be a coffee bar that will serve up coffee drinks, refreshers, and baked goods from local bakeries.
"We’re super excited to bring a bookish themed coffee bar to Cedar Falls Main Street," one of the owners said.
"We’re hoping it’ll be a go to place for readers to gather and chat about books!"
The business owners confirmed that Reader's Cup would be opening this weekend. Customers will be able to get a glimpse at the hard work this team has put into this family run operation on Saturday, November 16th at 10:00 AM.
A Sneak Peak @ Some Menu Items
I don't want to ruin the excitement that the family run and operated business has in store for customers. However, I did get to take a quick little look at Reader's Cup as the team worked to put the finishing touches together.
The new café will serve up Fat Cop Coffee, scooped ice cream from Plainfield's own Hightail Delivery, sweet treats from Bambino's Bakery, tea from Tea Cellar, Lotus energy drinks, and kid friendly drinks as well.
I was able to try one of the Lotus energy drinks that they have on the menu. This one is called the Hemingway.
While I won't share EVERYTHING about the Reader's Cup, I will say that the names for their drinks and menu items are right on theme. They will be serving up mocktails with names like Plot Twist and Little Women.
One drink that caught my eye was the Lavender Haze! As a Swiftie, I'm going to have to give that one a try next time.
