While it's not uncommon for a food truck to make the transition to having a full blown restaurant, it is always exciting!

It's been an exciting week for a Waterloo business owner. After just a few years of grinding away with his business, Rodney Berry, is finally expanding his popular Bar-B-Que food truck into a full blown brick and mortar restaurant!

Berry started 1st Base Bar-B-Que about three years ago, and it's been a big hit a local festivals and events ever since! The eatery has all sorts of delicious food like ribs, hamburgers, polish sausage, mac and cheese, and chicken wings.

Anyone else getting kind of hungry?

The team behind 1st Base Bar-B-Que celebrated their grand opening on Saturday, April 1st at their new storefront.

Located at a building on 189 W. 11th Street West in Waterloo, this BBQ spot will be taking the place of the Snack Shack convenience store, according to the Waterloo Courier. As of right now, 1st Base Bar-B-Que will be open Monday through Thursday 11 AM - 8 PM, as well as Fridays and Saturdays from 11 AM - 10 PM.

This eatery will be outdoor dining only for the time being.

If you're looking to get an order to go/carry out then you can place those orders by calling (319) 504-6717, or simply by placing your food order at the window. The owners have confirmed that customers can make online orders through DoorDash.
