One of America’s Best Sweet Shops Is in A Small Town In Iowa

Every single year, USA Today puts together a whole slew of lists celebrating the best of what America has to offer. USA Today 10 Best ranks different businesses, restaurants, attractions, and locations that are scattered all across the country.

Another, even sweeter list consists of some of the best candy stores in America. While the Midwest is well-represented amongst the nominees, only one Iowa shop made the cut.

Located approximately fifty-five minutes from Cedar Rapids and about an hour and a half from Waterloo, a store in Wilton might be considered one of the very best candy stores in the country.

Wilton Candy Kitchen was established in 1910 and also just might be "the oldest continuously operating ice cream parlor, soda fountain and confectionery of its type in the United States."

Wilton's even has a few rental properties above it that are meant for those traveling to check out the historic store.
