Hello, summer! There is the possibility of record-high temperatures through the weekend into the start of next week. Temperatures could touch triple digits in parts of Eastern Iowa for the next several days.

In addition to rising temps, high humidity levels are expected, too.

Eastern Iowa could experience a heat index between 105° and 115°.

The National Weather Service advises you to avoid long periods of exposure to the sun, to wear sunscreen with an SPF or 30 or higher--reapply every two hours, or after swimming or toweling off--and to drink plenty of water in order to help prevent heat-related illness. Children & the elderly are especially vulnerable.
