Kirk Ferentz Tests Positive for COVID-19
The Iowa Hawkeyes' game Saturday, December 19 against Michigan was canceled earlier this week due to continuing COVID-19 issues with the Wolverines' program. But now, Iowa's head coach Kirk Ferentz has tested positive for the virus.
KWWL reports Ferentz tested positive during the rapid antigen test Thursday morning (Dec 18). The test was already scheduled, and all players and personnel are tested regularly. Coach Ferentz promised to to participate via Zoom when his team returns to practice on Tuesday. The university reports Ferentz is asymptomatic. He will stay at home until December 27.
The Hawkeyes will receive their bowl invitation Sunday afternoon.
